I'm Stephen Abbott Pugh and I live in Brussels, Belgium. I have extensive experience helping governments pursue beneficial ownership transparency and use beneficial ownership data. I was the product owner of the Beneficial Ownership Data Standard, the world's leading open standard for beneficial ownership information and continue to advocate to improve data quality and standardisation.
Beneficial ownership experience
For four years, I led the technology and data team at Open Ownership, a leading non-profit organisation focused on beneficial ownership transparency.
I provided technical assistance to governments across the world from Canada to South Africa and Nigeria to Indonesia to help them collect and use high-quality beneficial ownership information.
I was product owner of the Beneficial Ownership Data Standard, the world's leading open standard for beneficial ownership data, as well as the Open Ownership Register, the world's first transnational open beneficial ownership register, and a range of open-source technical products.
I led a team of expert data analysts who worked with beneficial ownership data on millions of entities in a variety of formats to help guide impactful data use in countries across the globe.
